In the summer insects are out more then any time of year but you can still get bitten anytime of the year. Insect bites are very uncomfortable especially for children. There are many options to take away the itch and here are just a few ideas.
Aloe gel is an easy fix for an itch. Just cover the bite with a small amount of the aloe gel and repeat when it is necessary to help relieve the itch and promote healing.
If you have a deodorant stick handy you can use it to relieve the uncomfortable itch left by insect bites. Just rub the deodorant stick on the bite and repeat as it is necessary. Do not use the kind of stick that is an anti-persperant.
A slice of cucumber is a great way to relieve the itch of an insect bite. It is also good at relieving the pain of a bee sting. Just cut a thin slice off a cucumber and place it on the bite. Leave it there until the bite feels better. Replace it if it starts to split apart.
Grated carrot is also a good itch relief method. Grate a carrot very fine and place it in some paper towel. Take it and place it on the itchy bite and let it sit there for 20 minutes. Take the carrot and place it in the refrigerator and repeat the process again in a few hours with the same grated carrot.
Place a wet tea bag on the insect bite and let it sit there until the itch and pain feel better. This method may cause your skin to temporarily turn color.
An alcohol pad can help take away the itch of an insect bite. Open up the alcohol pad and place it directly on the bite site. It may sting for awhile but the sting will eventually go away and so will the itch. Maybe it stings so bad that it makes you forget about the itch.
You can help ease the itch with some corn starch. Make a paste of corn starch and water and place it on the bite. Let is sit there and soak up any poison. It will eventually dry if you let is sit there long enough.
