Grilling is a great way to cook food. You can grill just about anything using different techniques. You can use a gas grill, charcoal grill or a wood fire grill. A wood fire grill makes the best tasting grilled food since it also adds a little flavor from the wood smoke. A gas grill can add gas flavor and a charcoal grill can add a coal or sometimes a wood flavor depending on what kind of coals you use.
Wood fire grilling can be done on a tripod grill for convenience. A tripod grill allows you to put the food as close or as far away from the fire as you would like. Using a tripod grill on a wood fire is my favorite way to grill. You may think that making a wood fire is a hassle but it really is not. In fact making a wood fire is fun and easy to do. Just twist up a couple pieces of newspaper, place some twigs on it and put larger pieces of wood on the twigs. Then light the paper and add more wood as the fire gets established. Then wait for the fire to burn to coals and you are ready to cook.
You can place your meat right on the grill when grilling it. Make sure the grill is clean from the last cookout. You can take a piece of aluminum foil and crumple it and rub it on the grill to clean the grill off. The grill does not have to sparkle it just has to have any lumps rubbed off.
To cook vegetables you may want to use some aluminum foil and place the vegetables in that so they do not fall out onto the fire. You can wrap a potato in aluminum foil and place it by the fire to cook.
Small fish can fall through the grill so you may want to put the fish on a piece of aluminum foil before putting it on the grill.
If you want to make meat with barbecue sauce on it you can start cooking the meat on the grill. Once the meat is partially cooked spread barbecue sauce on the meat and continue cooking until the meat is done. You can put on as much sauce as you like and let it cook into the meat. This is a great way to make barbecue chicken, pork or beef.
Make sure your fire is out before you leave your grill unattended for safety.
