Nails can start to look dry, thick and rough and so can feet. Especially as we age our feet and nails start to need attention to look and feel better. Here are some tips to help make your tired feet look and feel better.
Fungus grows on feet and under nails. In warm weather the fungus grows better and feet feel it. You can soak your feet to help soften up the rough skin. Soak your feet in a mixture of half vinegar and half water twice a day. The vinegar kills fungus and removes any stains that have developed under the nails. Soak your feet as needed to help them look good and feel good.
When you are done soaking your feet you can wash your feet with a foot scrub to remove some of the dead skin. You can also use a foot emery board to work off some of the dead skin.
Coconut oil can do miracles on your feet. It softens skin and seems to kill bacteria that cause fungus. Before you go to bed wash your feet well with warm soap and water. Then dry off your feet well. The last thing to do before going to sleep sit on the edge of your bed and rub coconut oil on your feet and toes. Make sure you rub the coconut oil well on the worse parts of your feet and toes. Get some of the coconut oil under the toenails. Then swing your feet into bed and let the coconut oil soak in. If you do not want the coconut oil to get on your sheets and other bedding you can put a pair of socks on your feet after you have rubbed the oil in your skin. Use the type of coconut oil that you use to cook with since it works just fine. If you do not have coconut oil you can use olive oil as a substitute.
You can rub a thin layer of oil on your feet in the morning before you put your socks on to help keep your skin soft. As you wear your socks in your shoes during the day the oil will work into your skin and make your skin soft.
Eat a diet rich in olive oil and cut out sugar to help your skin become healthy and vibrant. Take good care of your feet and your whole body will feel better.
