The kitchen can be the messiest place in the house. Food is prepared, cooked and eaten in this room and where food is there is a mess to clean. Sometimes many people use the same kitchen and make a mess as they use it. Then someone will have to clean it.
Cooking on a stove can create mess. The boiling, frying and cooking can make a fine greasy dust in the air that lands on all surfaces and needs to be cleaned off. Cupboards and cabinets are easy to forget when cleaning the kitchen unless food actually touches them. The dirt from preparing food can gather on them and make them dusty and greasy. This dust and grease needs to be cleaned every so often depending on how much you cook.
There are several cleaners on the market that can clean cupboards and cabinets and they work fine. I prefer to use vinegar that I put in a spray bottle. Vinegar can smell bad when it is wet but when it dries the smell goes away and it can actually help freshen the air.
I spray the cleaner directly on the cabinet or cupboard and then wipe it with a fresh, clean, soft, absorbent cloth. Make sure you get into all the cracks and crevices as you clean. On particularly dirty cupboards and cabinets you may need to wash them more then once.
If there is a greasy buildup on your cupboards or cabinets you will need to use a degreaser. Make sure the degreaser you use is good for the type of surface you are working on.
The inside on your cabinets need to be cleaned too. Take out everything that is in them and wash the inside shelves. You may need to replace the shelf paper.
When you have the insides of your cupboards clean and fresh then place everything back into the cupboards. Try to put like items together like pans in one cupboard, storage containers in another and towels in another. Try to stay organized and your cupboards will serve you well for a long time.
Cleaning cupboards and cabinets is a job that needs to be done every so often to keep them organized and ready for use. When you keep like items together in one area you will find it easier to find what you are looking for when you need it.
