It’s going to be fun. Summer’s graduation time for many and new graduate is all smiles. So it’s party time! Go shopping with your mom, dad, sis and bro to make sure everything is done to make it a bash. Here’s a handy shopping guide for your party:
Food – Buy a variety of quick foods and arrange a good buffet with buckets full of sodas, and beautiful spreads of salads, burgers, cupcakes, candy pops, sweets and chips. Buy Subway sandwiches or McDonald’s apple pies for the party.
Memories – Buy some CDs, DVDs, rent a high-quality camcorder and record the whole party. Share the DVDs with your friends. You would have a good stock of memories before meeting them again after years of job or study. Set up a table with a blank book where guests can write in their new details on new address, email, phone numbers etc.
Entertainment: Music, Videos – Put on some music in backyard and the house throughout the party. It need not be raucous but soft and smooth. If you have a large space, you can project a funny film on one side and those interested can watch it. Provide multiple entertainment avenues like cartoons, 3D films, games, etc. Buy or rent extra pairs of 3D glasses.
Seating – Leave a lot of open space with few chairs because a lot of your friends will go around, dance and jump during the party. Select lawns of a college or your own house for throwing the party.
Decoration – Give a festive décor; buy some lighting decoration available in various designs at Wal-Mart. You can decorate the entrance and backyard through the walls and bushes.
Gifts – For parents and siblings, buy a surprise gift for the young graduate! Give it on the day of party and you make it all the more exciting. Try and buy small gifts like pens, digital photo frames, or scented candles for all others. It would turn your graduation party into a wonderful bash.
Contact a party supplies vendor to get bulk discounts. E.g. Oriental Trading gives up to 50% discount on graduation party supplies.
Avoid last minute rushes. Plan ahead and enjoy yourself!
