Kelly Clarkson put it best, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!” This motto truly keeps me motivated because after every Zumba, Nike Training, Pilates, and Boot Camp class, I feel as though, if I have not passed out yet, I must be doing something right. Pool parties are only a few months away and the holiday calories are still haunting me every day!
I will share my top three ultimate weight loss tips:
1. Relaxing Infrared Body Wraps. I think everyone needs a little extra help to jump start your metabolism to help burn away those stubborn love handles, lower belly bulges and rid those Kim Kardashian-esque behinds. With one 50 minute session, you can burn over 1200 calories and what’s best about this treatment is that it’s inexpensive, detoxes, and you see results immediately after the session. Amazing and affordable! I actually perform them on myself and know that I look and feel the best I have in years.
2. Alternate workouts. Being past my mid twenties means that when I once could eat like a sumo wrestler and not gain a pound, merely taking a sip of water nowadays requires exercise to keep off! My best tip in combating this problem is alternating between workouts and exercises so that we beat the plateaus our bodies experience. I change up the types of classes I take on a weekly basis. I do Zumba and cardio on alternating days of the week and lift weights and/or take a Pilates or Yoga class on other days. I find this the most effective in toning and truly seeing the pounds melt away.
3. Cut the calories. Dieting shouldn’t be miserable, because it should be a complete lifestyle overhaul and a realistic one at that. Cutting things out is a big no-no because your body needs fats, proteins, and carbs as they are the essential building blocks of the body, and without one or the other, the body cannot function at full capacity. Instead of setting unrealistic and hard-to-reach goals, how about just cut out a few calories here and there and work your way into healthier habits. For example, I used to drink at least 2-4 cans of soda a day out of habit and slowly cut back to 2 cans a day to then 1 can, then to once every few days, weekly and so on. Each can contains roughly 150 calories, so by cutting back 3 cans of soda daily, I reduced 450 calories a day, 3150 calories a week, 12,600 calories a month and 151,200 calories annually. At 3,500 calories a pound, I was packing on an extra 15-20 pounds of fat throughout the years just from drinking soda…YIKES!
Just remember my words of wisdom when embarking on a healthier you, “Small changes make big differences.”
