Road trips are those special trips that you take, where you spend most of the time on the road traveling to your next destination. They are also some of the best memories you will have in this lifetime. At least for me. So what are my best summer road trips ever?
1. Traveling from Webster, MA to Berlin, PA. Back in 1985, I was only 4 years old when mom decided to make the big move to Pennsylvania. I was going to be seeing my grandmother, so I was excited. What made the trip memorable was how my mom would constantly blare the Beach Boys and Patsy Cline. Now every time I hear any song by them, I am reminded of this road trip.
2. Traveling from Chapel Hill, NC to Dillon, MT. Back in 2011, I had an amazing road trip across the country where I had the opportunity to experience new destinations, dine at various restaurants, visit different establishments, and meet new people. I had the opportunity to visit Golden, CO where I went to the Buffalo Bill Museum and also had the chance to stop by Santa Claus, IN. Although it was short lived, in those few days I had one of the greatest experiences that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
3. Traveling from Emporium, PA to Athens, GA. Back in 2005, I was extremely anxious to get to Georgia. Although I had lived in several states, I never lived in the Peach State. Cruising about 14+ hours to ZZ Top’s Greatest Hits with the windows down was one of the best road trips I have ever had the pleasure of taking.
