A smile takes so little effort and yet can make the whole world a brighter place. The best part is smiles are free. It is just as easy to smile as it is to frown.
A Thank you:
Sometime we are so stingy with those two little words you would think we had to dig into our 401K account. Yet those two little can work magic in the work of a server at the restaurant that we just had dinner. That server was there for eight hours and because someone did not come in he/she is pulling a double.
Have a great day:
These words said as we leave the check-out can also brighten a tried person’s day. It is not easy to be all smiles and pleasant when customers are grumbling and complaining about every little thing.
Let me hold the door for you:
Have you ever had your arms full and tried to open your car door? It takes just a minute to hold the door open for another person. My husband always opens door for me. I, in return, open the car door for him. After I get in and before I put my seat belt on I reach over and open his door. It takes so little time to do that.
Pay it forward:
This was started by a young boy. Children can teach us grownups a thing or two from time to time. In fact there are so many Children out there helping other children that we do not hear about. We only hear about the bad children the trouble makers. There is something wrong with that picture.
People who are in the habit of being kind and thoughtful live much happier and fuller lives. These people we do not see on TV or in the newspaper. We would rather read or hear about the bad that is going on in our cities. What if there were no reports if crimes and bad things, but instead the reporters only reported about the good that is being done? Reporters say we as human beings only want to hear about all the bad and evil that is going on; they say that is what sells papers. Is that true?
