The Spiralizer is a light-weight vegetable slicer that can turn zucchini, jicama, heck even beets into spiralized slices perfect for replacing pastas, creating interesting French fries, and simply making it easier for you to get your daily dose of plant based foods.
Why am I crazy for this contraption? There are several reasons. The most important reason is that I know in order to have good mental and physical health, you have to have a diet high in plant based foods and low in sugars. I’m currently pregnant and eager to stuff as many vegetables into my daily menu as possible. Here are a few more reasons this slicer has become a staple in my household:
It’s easy to store. It’s not huge and it doesn’t take up a bunch of space. It’s easy to clean and comes with three different blades you can use depending on the slicing effect your looking for.
It’s useful. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought a kitchen gadget only to discovery it a year later, unused. I’m jazzed about all the different ways I can use this slicer to make salads, fries, pasta replacements, etc. It takes a minute (I’m not exaggerating) to cut a medium sized zucchini. I’m addicted. It’s made my life easier.
It has bumped up the health factor and veggie intake for my whole family. My partner is usually a meat and potato type of guy, but he loves my spiralized zucchini a la marinara. It’s quick, easy and very filling. The Spiralizer has opened my eyes to the wonderful world if jicama fries! Yes folks, you can use a jicama in cooking and you don’t have to be a chef to figure it out. And my 19 month old loves them.
