The winter blues are starting to come to a close and warmer weather is on the horizon, and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than music festivals? Many major music festivals, such as Warped Tour and Summerfest, have began to announce dates and bands that are set to rock the stages this summer across the country (and in some cases, the world).
Music festivals have always been a welcoming sign of summer for many years. Young and old alike have been flocking to farm fields and parks every summer to see some of the hottest acts around heat up the stages across the country for a day or a weekend. For many people, music festivals are something they look forward to all year. I mean, how many times do you get to see all your favorite bands/artists in just one day?
I’ve been lucky enough to attend a few of these types of concerts, and for me they are some of the best memories I have from my summers year after year. Last year I attended Warped Tour in New York and it was an absolutely amazing experience. There are so many people from different backgrounds and probably most of them you’d never even think to talk to on any other day, let alone be comfortable enough to sing and dance with all day long, but for that one day it just seemed like the right thing to do.
Attending these sorts of concerts are also a great way to meet people in the music industry and you may even get the chance to meet your favorite band members. At first glance you’d think attending a music festival with the average attendance of 50,000 or more would be ridiculously packed and you’re probably thinking that even getting close to the stage is unheard of, but in actuality, it’s not. A lot of times band members have their own booths set up before and after their performances and you can get them to sign autographs and talk to them for a minute and even get your picture taken with them. The best part is that many bands are just as excited to meet their fans at these sorts of concerts, so you get a genuine and intimate experience.
I don’t know about you guys, but I am counting down the days until the summer music festivals begin out here!
