Hey ladies! It’s summer and time for a new kind of selfie! No more duck face, pouty lip, seductive smile selfies allowed! Why not try the best selfie out there?! The no-makeup, just me selfie!
Yes that’s right! It’s time to stop beautifying ourselves for the camera, and start posting confident pictures without all the makeup and extra shenanigans we add onto our selves, in hopes of appearing more attractive and beautiful. Because believe it or not, we already are!
You know that face you see before bed? You know what I’m talking about. That face that’s been washed clean of makeup and full of exposed imperfections? That is the face that we should confidently be displaying for the world to see! Who cares if you have pimples or your eyes look smaller, or if you have crow’s feet, or wrinkles, or scars?! Guess what, those are actually what make you such a beautifully, grown woman. And any person who thinks otherwise is just not as strong as you.
Nowadays we are so prone to doing anything and everything to make us physically look as young and flawless as we can possibly be. Yet the truth is, by doing this, we are actually making our true skin worsen and negatively affected by all the junk we put on it. And on top of that we are doing something to ourselves mentally. We are making ourselves believe that by physically altering our appearance we will be more accepted and seem more attractive to other people. And yet, our ultimate goal is to find that special someone who will love us for who we are without all of the make-up on. What kind of twisted game are we really playing with ourselves?
So I would like to make a suggestion for all women out there to give yourself a break at least for this summer. Post a couple of pictures without all of that makeup on. We don’t need it every single day anyways! (Especially not in this hot, summer heat!) You’ll be surprised that the more confident you are about revealing the real you, the more attractive you will be to everyone else.
Yes, the saying, “beauty comes from within” is an old one. But it definitely still holds some truth today. So be brave, bold, carefree, and make-up free! Let the world see you for who you really are!
