When it comes to weddings, what is the one publicized wedding that is so memorable that comes to mind? Most would say Princess Diana’s wedding. Her wedding was the most watched, listened to on the radio that has ever been known about.
Princess Diana was the first British Citizen to marry into the royal throne in 300 years. With her being the first British citizen in 300 years to marry into the throne is probably why it was the most publicized wedding. Prince Charles proposed to Diana on February 3, 1981, after they had been courting for six months. Charles was 32 and Diana was only 20 years old. They married July 29, 1981. They married in the St. Paul’s Cathedral. There was several different clergy men from different denominations that were at the wedding.
It was the most publicized wedding because there was 3,500 in the congregation, 750 million watching worldwide and with the radio added in it went up to a billion. Princess Diana’s wedding dress alone had a 25 foot train and 10,000 pearls on it, along with other hand made things as well. There are even pictures of the most beautiful dress and its person on the internet, that way everyone can see. This is where you can find the very beautiful pictures of Princess Diana in her wedding dress and her wedding! Princess Diana even had to ride in her own carriage on the way to the church because her train on her dress was so long that her own father could not even ride with her. Prince Charles was in full uniform of commander.
It is amazing that just one woman got so much attention on her wedding day that anyone has ever really known. Even through it all, she seemed so calm and collected. Where as most women on their wedding days are nothing but nerves and it shows.
Princess might have passed on, but her memory and her wedding day will never be forgotten. Even if you knew nothing about Princess Diana, if you ever looked anything up on her, by the time you are done finding out about her, its almost as if you have known the woman as she was alive still. But one thing I have noticed that no where you look online you cannot find the price of her wedding dress! Its amazing that that information is not available either.
