Are you looking for some weight loss motivation to get you in gear so that you will have your beach body by summertime? Well, let me talk to you about myself and experiences with my “Know Your Body Diet.” Let just go ahead and say it, diets are not fun. No one I have ever meet has said that they like to diet. Most diets out there are just fads and just want you to buy some cookbook or some meal replacement shake so that they can make a quick buck off of you. Well, that was me up until about two years ago. Let me tell you, I was a sucker for any new diet that said I could lose fat, be the healthiest I have ever been in my life, have the body that you have always wanted. I tell you it was crazy the amount of money that I spent on these scams.
With that in mind let me tell you about my “Know Your Body Diet.” This diet doesn’t sell you cookbooks or meal replacement shakes, it sells you knowledge about the most important part of the diet, your body. First off, everyone body is different. My body is different from yours, your body is different your friends at work, your friend at works body is different from my body. The point is that you have to understand your own body’s special needs and the nutrition your body needs. I just gave you the most power tip when looking at these diet fads.
Now that I have told you about the “Know Your Body Diet” I want to talk about my program in terms of nutrition and exercise routine. You need to understand that there is a difference between losing weight and losing fat. If I get on the scale on Sunday and weight in at 195 pounds, then diet through the week with these fad diets, then hop on the scale on the following Sunday, it will probably say that I have lost 5-7 pounds. Is this good or bad? I will go ahead and tell it is bad. The total fat that was lost for the week was just a small percentage of the total weight that you lost. Most of the weight was just water weight and muscle. Key point here is that losing fat is good thing, while losing muscle is bad thing.
Ok, with that I’m mind let’s talk about my program that helps me get in to shape for pool season every year. The “Know Your Body Diet” last for six weeks. You will need to know how many calories your body burns if you were to sit on the couch all day and not drink or eat anything. It is call your BMR rate. There are some great calculators to get this number online. With that being said let get down to the meal plan
First off I feed my body good wholesome foods. Also, I drink about a gallon of water everyday. You don’t want to starve your body that leads to muscle loss. You don’t want to look like a stick at the pool just like you don’t want to look like a whale right! All right lets start with my daily meals. The first meal of the day is one of the two most important meals in your day, the other being what you eat right after your workout. My everyday breakfast on this diet a five egg white omelet with spinach and mushrooms, with a cup of oatmeal with two tablespoons of natural peanut butter mixed in. you want to start your day with some good proteins, good carbohydrates and some healthy fats. The second meal of the day is three hours later, kind of in the mid morning. This meal consists of 4 oz. of sweet potatoes, 3 oz. of broccoli florets and 6 oz. of boneless skinless chicken breast. The next meal of the day is three hours later, some where between 1pm and 2pm. If you haven’t noticed yet, I feed my body every 3 hours to ensure my body always has the fuel that it needs to keep firing on all cylinders. The third meal is a 1 oz. of cashews, a cup of brown rice, 6 oz. of chicken and a small garden salad dry. This meal is the meal I want to eat just as soon as I can after I get done at the gym. The next meal of the day is my favorite one and last one. It is a 6 oz. steak, 4 oz. of vegetables with a little honey drizzled over them, and a small garden salad dry. That’s it, that is what I eat every day for 42 days. But the nutation will only get you half why to you goal. You need to get in to the gym and work that food in to your body.
The exercise program is where you will make the most progress towards your goal. When you exercise something magical happens, you body burns calories. Calories to fuel the workout and calories to repaired the muscle you have broken down. My daily exercise plan is the following, before every workout at the gym I do 30 minutes on the treadmill or bike. This gets the blood moving around and focuses you on what you need to get done at the gym. After my cardio I weight train. My weight training changes depending on what day it is. My daily weight training is: Monday Chest and triceps, Tuesday legs, Wednesday no weight training, Thursdays shoulders and abs, Friday back and biceps, Saturday two cardio secession of 25 minutes, Sunday two cardio secession of 25 minutes.
This exercise and meal plan goes on for 42 days. The first time I did this diet I was 224 pounds with a body fat of 22 percent. I stayed with it and when I finished the first diet two years ago I was 204 with a 10 percent body fat. My body fat percent fell 12 percent. I looked muscular and had size to my frame. I did not look like a stick with no tone what so ever. I hope the “Know Your Body Diet” helps on your quest for your summer beach body.
