Though I my baby cannot see,
I feel, perceiving she is there.
Her little kick brings happy glee.
I nurture her with tender care.
Now she’s a baby in my arms.
With joy my moments she beguiles.
She gladdens us with happy charms.
She beams on us with happy smiles.
How she has grown! Her helpful hands
Relieve the tedium of my day;
And after heeding my commands,
She runs and jumps in happy play.
A lovely lady! Soon she’ll wed.
Her day of joy is very near.
She’ll leave me, and my eyes will shed
A pensive but a happy tear.
