An article appeared a few days ago on the IOC website. Then it was modified.
In that article that covers ladies figure skating, there were a few quotes from Adelina Sotnikova who had won gold under the most controversial judging scandal ever.
And a few quotes from Yuna Kim.
According to that original article Yuna Kim made a few complimentary comments on Adelina Sotnikova’s win.
“[Sotnikova] put on a great show,” complimented Yuna Kim. Kim also added, “She’s a highly technical skater and very difficult to beat tonight. We both battled for gold tonight. She managed to come out on top.”
Yuna Kim appeared conceding to Sotnikova’s win based on the article, allegedly putting down the millions of protesters all over the world, that Adelina Sotnikova had won the game rightfully.
I didn’t believe it. If Kim said something like that, I thought initially, she was overly diplomatic or her quotes could have been misrepresented.
In the middle of international uproar, it is very unlikely for Kim to make such a gesture as to hint any legitimacy on Sotnikova’s victory.
Moreover, what bothered me the most is this:
Simply, saying Sotnikova’s being highly technical skater is, if you have a minimum knowledge of ladies figure skating, a moron’s blubber. It’s tantamount to saying Russian’s being the truest democratic country in the world.
Not surprisingly, it was fabricated, according to the Wire Magazine.
This is a serious blunder. It places the IOC on the same platter of the ISU, the culprit of Sochi ladies figure skating’s fraud. If the quotes were fabricated, the IOC owes more than just an official explanation, unless the IOC’s credence is jeopardized.
According to the Wire Magazine, Kim’s agent confirmed that the quotes are not from Kim.
Now things couldn’t have gone worse. The so called international sport headquarter is involved in a conspiratorial cover-up by fabricating quotes in order to defend what seems to be the worst figure skating judging in history.
If everything developed so far that centers on Adelina Sotnikova was fraud by the ISU, the IOC’s fabrication is criminal in itself.
