Imagine a world where there is no music and sound. It would be a very boring world. The same happens in the WWE. Imagine if a wrestler didn’t have a theme song. His entrance would be very boring and monotonous. For example, when Cesaro separated himself for the Real Americans, he was without a theme song for almost two weeks. When he entered, there was no emotion because he didn’t have any music. In this article, I will talk about three reasons it is important for the WWE superstars to have a great theme song.
- 1) It establishes the superstar as a very important one. This gives a hint to the WWE Universe that this superstar is actually very good. For example, when The Shield debuted we know that they were going to be great superstars because their theme song is awesome.
- 2) People will know who will enter. When the theme song of a superstar starts then the WWE Universe is aware of the superstar that will enter and they can cheer for him or boo him. It is a great way to foment participation in the WWE Universe. For example, when Kurt Angle music started, people know that he will enter and they boo him and make fun of Kurt Angle using his own theme song. It was a great interactive way for the WWE Universe to connect with the superstars.
- 3) If the theme song is scary then the superstar opponent will get intimidated. This is a very important aspect of the scary superstars like The Undertaker, Kane, Mankind and now The Wyatt Family. Their theme song is very scary and creepy and that give them psychological advantage. For example, when The Undertaker bells sound then the WWE Universe and his opponent are already scary. The Undertaker low walk and his theme song give him a very high psychological advantage because he scares everyone.
In conclusion, a great theme song is a very important aspect in the superstar’s success. If you make a research and watch the biggest superstars’ entrance then you will know that a great theme song is not a superficial thing, is a necessary thing.
