Psalm 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. We are just as “I Am, but we are not Him. We must remember at all times that we are His because we have been purchased with a price that only His Son could pay to redeem us.
If you read the Beatitudes in Matthew the fifth chapter, verses one, two and three, they are focused on the Christian’s awareness of his divine nature, his shortcomings, his many blessings, plus his great need for God. These are more active, particularly in our behavior towards others. We are commanded to love one another as Christ loves us.
In this we can see that humanity was created in the image and likeness of the great “I Am.” It should be very obvious, especially to every one of us that, God loves not only the born again believers in Christ, but all the peoples of the world. He loves every one of us regardless of who we are or our social status, our ethnicity, and He desires that we will overcome our brokenness of life by being born anew into Hs kingdom. He loves us all unconditionally.
Depending upon men for help in trying circumstances sometimes bring temporary comfort, but when they have done all, time soon passes and then the unsaved old people face the uncertainty of their eternal destiny.
I believe what He tells us in the Book of Ecclesiastes 12, especially concerning the elderly as they go through the “evil” days of life. To be a child of God and saved during old age is one thing, but to be elderly and lost is quite another. The saved elderly people can find help in their LORD in time of need, but those who are lost can only depend on themselves and have to endure the “evil” days. Depending upon men who can only do so much and no more puts you at the mercy of men. You can hear doctors who have done their best say, “We have done all that we can do.”
They did not remember their Creator in the day of their youth, nor when the evil day was upon them. If they only knew in their hearts that all the wicked would be turned into hell and all those who forget God, they would have sought him in the days of their youth. But Some could care less that we are made in the image and likeness of “I Am” and need to repent of sin and return to him. They never accept the remedy that God has provided for sin.
The saved peacemakers are children of God, the pure in heart are children of God, the saved merciful are the children of God, the saved mournful are the children of God. We are restored in the image of “I Am” that’s why we are partakers of His divine nature. The children of God become more and more like their heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ. We walk with Him daily carrying our crosses just as He did. We pray and converse with Him in prayer all the time. We sacrifice in our living and our giving and witness everywhere we go just as He did. We suffer with Him and give glory to God just as He did.
We visit the sick, the prisoners, the homeless and give so their needs can be met just as He did. We feed the hungry and help the orphans, widows and strangers just as He did. We teach and preach the word of God just as He did. We make disciples of the nations just as He did. We humble ourselves and glorify God just as He did. We are just as “I Am” carrying on the work assigned to our hands. When this life is over we will hear Him say to us, Well done thou good and faithful servant just as He said to His Son who was faithful in all things.
God provided for our Spiritual and physical needs in this like and the life to come because we are just as He is. We are “living” beings, but we getting prepared for the life to come when we will be with Him forever more. This mean taking Jesus Christ as our Supreme example and following Him. He was God-man in the flesh, but upon His resurrection from the dead He was God overall blessed for ever.
God said to Moses when Moses asked Him, “Who shall I say sent me? What’s your name? God told Moses. “I Am that I am.” Since we are created in His Image and Likeness, the image was marred because of sin. But once we are born again when we repent of our sin and truly accept Jesus as our LORD and Savior, then we are a new creation in Jesus Christ and we have have eternal life. We are just as “I Am”, highly blessed and headed where the wicked shall cease from troubling and the weary shall be at rest. Aren’t you glad you are old and saved, headed for an eternal home to be with the LORD?
