I remember the pain just like it was yesterday. It woke me out of a deep slumber in the middle of the night. I couldn’t breathe. Four hours and an emergency room visit later, I found out the culprit. I experienced my first gall bladder attack.
When I asked my doctor about the cause of the pain. He answered with one simple statement, “It’s your diet!” He told me that I would require surgery to remove my gallbladder if the attacks didn’t stop. That statement changed my life.
My doctors statement made me really take an objective look at myself. Since High School I gained over 50 pounds. I realized that my body had to deal with the added weight and it was literally hurting my body. It was time for a change. That day I began researching ways to address gallbladder attacks and came across the Gallbladder Diet.
The Gallbladder Diet
The Gallbladder Diet is a meal plan that literally eliminates excess fat from The Gallbladder Diet literally changed the way I thought about eating. I could no longer eat fried foods, dairy or rich tasting foods. I later learned that these foods were the cause of my midnight attacks.
I also became active. I exchanged my remote control for jump rope and I began running and walking more with my children. Instead of spending family time at the movies, we spent it at the park playing baseball or basketball. I lost over 60 pounds in 16 months.
Looking back on my weight problems I can really attribute the majority of my issues to self-esteem and the lack of self-control. These days I feel better and I look better. I know how to keep my body healthy on the inside and outside. I have learned to substitute unhealthy foods for leafy veggies and succulent fruit. I have learned to take the stairs as opposed to the elevator. I am finally living life, on my own, healthy terms.
