Foot pain is a common condition that affects people of all ages. It can be caused by sprains, arthritis, excess weight, and others. The pain can occur anywhere on the foot, such as the heel, toe, etc.
Foot pain can sometimes be unbearable. Fortunately, there are a variety of ways to relieve the pain. Here are some ways below:
Soak Feet In Warm Water
Soaking your feet in warm water will help relieve pain or soreness. This works very well, even without medications. Just soak your feet in a bucket full of warm water for 30 minutes. Another option is to soak your whole body in your bath tub. This is an excellent way to treat foot pain.
Pain usually occurs at the heel and ball of the foot. The arch supports help cushion those areas. They also help reduce sharp pain your feet experience while walking. For best results, wear custom-made orthotics. They provide even more support and greatly relieve any foot problems.
Hot And Cold Water Therapy
Hot-and cold-water therapy are effective at treating foot pain. Hot therapy increases blood flow and relaxes the muscles. The cold therapy, on the other hand, reduces inflammation . This type of therapy helps to boost your immunity. At the same time, it gets rid of inflammatory responses in the body. Just apply a heat pad to the foot. You could also soak your foot in hot water. This should be done, for at least 15 minutes. Then, apply a cold compress to the foot, for another 15 minutes. Alternate between the cold and hot compress. Repeat this four times a day, until the pain leaves.
A foot massage will help relieve the pain. It will also promote blood circulation and reduce swelling. Just apply oil to your foot, with medium-light strokes. Make sure you use your thumbs and fingers. Then, work across and down the entire foot, using the thumb. For best results, start at the ball of the foot. Make long, deep strokes along the arch of the foot. Also, move in the direction of the toes. Gently squeeze, rotate, and pull each toe. Finally, place both hands over the foot, and gently squeeze the length of each foot. Another option is to buy a massage roller, or roll your bare feet over a tennis ball. A golf ball or rolling pin will also work.
Foot exercise will also help relieve pain. Try picking a few pencils up with your toes. Another option is to wrap a thick rubber band around your toes, on each foot. Then, spread your toes apart and hold it for five seconds. Repeat this, at least ten times. Also, you could use a rug, mat, or wall, to align each foot. Just stand with your feet facing forward.
