CEO has a long history of having successful student entrepreneurs as members. From Ryan Allis who was a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006 and sold his company iContact for $169M before launching Connect, to Trevor Owens, an alum from the University of Iowa and co-founder of the Lean Startup Machine, which recently raised $1.5M to expand lean startup methodologies to corporations, many great and diverse young entrepreneurs got their start through CEO.
The newest generation of college entrepreneurs was just recognized by Inc. in its annual Coolest College Startup list. For the past several years, CEO members have been named as the coolest in America, including Kenny Nguyen of Big Fish Presentations, Josh Weingart of WaterDrop Shop, and Nick Chmura of BetterBoo.com. Now three new student entrepreneurs have joined this prestigious list: Beatmerch, Cavebox.com, and Revita Ink.
Duncan Abdelnour launched Beatmerch in 2013 as a student at the University of Tampa. Beatmerch is an electronic music merchandising company that services the merchandise needs of internationally touring electronic music artists and events. From providing festival merchandise stores and e-commerce options, to licensing and promotional product distribution, Beatmerch provides a full-service merchandising solution. They currently represent some of the top DJs in the world, including Hardwell and Nicky Romero.
Storm Anderson and Samuel George are students at Indiana University and co-founders of the Cavebox. The Cavebox is a subscription service that lets men build a custom hygiene supply box or choose from a pre-set package that will be delivered directly to their door. It officially launched this past February 2014 and the Cavebox started receiving orders immediately, including significant interest in their spring break cavebag (travel-sized essentials kit).
Revita Ink (revitaink.com)
Nolan Simons, along with co-founders David Raskin and Archi Prudencio, created Revita Ink, a skin care line that helps prevent fading and the loss of color in tattoos. You may remember Nolan as the Loyola Marymount University student who placed 2nd in the 2013 National Elevator Pitch Competition. After launching in 2013, Revita Ink now receives over 10 orders per day from around the world with a 20% re-purchase rate. On top of the global recognition it has received, Revita Ink has support from some Major League Baseball players Jonny Gomes and Mike Napoli of the Boston Red Sox.
