After three, long and painful years of no brand spankin’ new music from The Black Keys, fans finally get what they’ve been longing for. As a follow-up to their 2011 album “El Camino”, the dynamic duo composed what seems to be yet another pop-ish sounding record with a catchy beat traced by the one and only iconic voice of Dan Auerbach.
Do People Really Like Their New Sound?
Stupid question, of course they do! Right from the very beginning of their musical journey together, Dan (the voice and guitarist) and Patrick (the drums) have been the creators of powerful blues-rock that melted the faces of all who listened. Given that their sound has changed substantially over the years, those who have been loyal from the very start seemed to have been pleased with these changes in style. And those who are new to their music still get a dose of the blues here and there throughout their most recent three records. How do I know people just can’t get enough of these two? The proof is all in the numbers, my friends. Amazon users have rated the up-and-coming release of “Turn Blue” as #2 in Customer’s Picks and it earned an astonishing rank as #1 in the Best Sellers category as a pre-order. Amazon as we all know has a massive customer base. People just love this stuff!
What’s there to love about this single, you ask?
Why everything is to love, my dear readers. “Fever” is one of those seriously addictive songs, in the best way possible. From the very beginning with Patrick pounding away on his drums and then the bass drop with a little tambourine, until Dan’s sweet, sweet voice arises, you’ll be undoubtedly hooked. If you find nothing helpful in my review I highly encourage everyone to at least give it a listen. Form your own opinions as everyone should. But always remember to keep on rockin’!
And if you do find that you like “Fever” after all, they entire “Turn Blue” album will be available for purchase May 13, 2014. Oh, and check out some of their older stuff as well. It’s delightful.
Farewell fellow listeners/music lovers!
