If you have never been to a country wedding, you should definitely try to experience one! There is so much love put into a country ceremony that the wedding cannot be anything but truly amazing.
This is my story and my wedding. My husband and I met in a small town restaurant/dance hall in the country in Tennessee. I will call the business CJ for short. Our meeting there and becoming involved with the weekend dance crowd made the place very important to us. We decided when we wanted to get married we would like our wedding to be in the CJ. We dated for about 7 1/2 years before we set a day to be wed. We chose February 9th, because it is my husband’s parents anniversary. We felt it was a lucky day to get married considering that his parents marriage lasted for over 49 years.
By the time we decided to get married, the CJ had been remodeled due to having new owners who wanted a fresh look for the place. Beautiful hardwood had been installed throughout the building. The place had a country-but classy feel to it now. It was perfect for our wedding! I tend to have a nervous personality when it comes to large crowds and overwhelming preparations, but my dear, soon-to-be family, were there to help us every step of the way. They were wonderful! The ladies of provided most of the cooking and decorating while the gentlemen worked on the music and the setup at the CJ.
Everything was just right for the day of our wedding! The ladies had decorated the dance hall with balloons, rose petals, colored lights, candles and streamers. There was all kinds of delicious food including two cakes made by my mother and my husbands daughters. The grandchildren (all 19 of them) had special roles in our wedding as well. The boys lined the walk that I would take down my rose petal adorned aisle. Two of the younger boys held the rings for their Papaw and me. They were so happy to have this important task. The girls walked out before me with their flower bouquets to join the boys. They were so prettily dressed and lady like that I almost started crying just watching them walk out. My stepfather was by my side prepared to give me away on our special day. As we walked down the aisle I felt like a princess! Everyone had done an amazing job. While walking toward the love of my life, I thought to myself, this is my country wedding and it’s perfect.
