A common complaint about Sioux City, Iowa, is that there isn’t anything to do here. While the entertainment options may not be endless, there are some interesting options for things to do outdoors. Mini golf is an activity the whole family can enjoy, and here are three of the top courses in the Sioux City area.
1. The Fun Plex At Rush Werks- This is my pick for the best mini golf spot in Sioux City. There is an entire fun pled on site, so you can purchase tickets just for mini golf, or for the whole fun pled, including go karts and a batting cage. There is also an outdoor patio bar right around the corner to relax after your round of mini golf. The course is the newest in the area, and small enough that the whole family can participate. The only down side is that the fun pled is typically busy when the weather is nice, so you often have people in front of and behind you, and you might have to wait for them, or they may be waiting on you. The fun pled is currently closed for the season, but when the weather shapes up you can find it at 3828 Stadium Drive in Sioux City, or give them a call at (712) 252-4545.
2. North Forty Mini Golf – This mini golf course is a short drive north of town, and worth the trip. Its a fairly large mini golf course, and not usually busy, so you can go at your own pace. The course is older, but still fulfills the basic mini golf experience. The country setting is also a plus. You can find this course at 3700 N US Highway 75, or give them a call at (712) 239-5909. I wasn’t able to find their hours or season information online, so give them a call before you venture out!
3. Pirate’s Cove at Arnold’s Park – If you are up for a little road trip, take a drive to the northern end of the Siouxland area and visit Pirate’s Cove mini golf at Arnold’s Park near Okoboji, Iowa. Pirate’s Cove has locations all over the United States, so this mini golf experience is a little more polished and elaborate than some of the local options. This course has some neat water features, and stays true to the pirate theme. A round costs $7.95 for adults and $6.95 for kids. Pirate’s Cove os located at 25 Lake Street in Arnold’s Park, Iowa and their phone number is (712) 332-6094. Their web site has details on their season and hours.
The weather is warming up quickly, so these courses will be open before you know it.
