In 2009, I went to move my Grandma and Grandpa from Las Vegas Nevada to Kansas. They took me to the Rio Hotel and Casino where we ate at their mile long buffet for about $25 per person. I had a field day with it, and I tried all the meats there.
My first plate was loaded with breaded shrimp, king crab legs, pot roast, barbecue chicken and steak. While sitting and enjoying my first plate of juicy well-made meats, Grandpa informed me that The Rio has one of the largest buffets in the world, and when we were done eating, we can watch the chicks dance on the tables while we play nickel poker.
So I became determined to eat something from every part of the buffet as quickly as I could. I went back for a second plate and loaded a baked potato with shrimp; butter, bacon bits, cheese, sour cream and ranch dressing and I filled the rest of the plate with stuffed mushrooms until there was no room left on my plate. I ate every last bit of it in a hurry because Grandma was getting full and I wasn’t done yet.
I made my third trip to the buffet line I grabbed meat loaf, pork chops, egg rolls and sushi. The meat loaf was so moist and didn’t even seem greasy. The breaded pork chops where just like how my Mom had always made them. The egg rolls where good and cooked well they weren’t the best egg rolls I’ve ever had but they were good. The sushi was amazing. You can’t go wrong with sushi ever.
On my forth trip I made the most ingredient rich salad I’ve ever had this salad had hard boiled eggs, bacon bits, cheese, ham, tomato, olives, onions and ranch. The salad bar had so many ingredients I can’t even remember what was there, but you can have it all!
Finally, I made a dessert trip and grabbed some Boston cream pie, chocolate cake and ice cream loaded with toppings! Grandpa paid the tab and tipped the waitress while Grandma gave me $20 to play nickel’s and I won $180 that night before we left, but I will never forget the food! Everything I had was properly cooked and seasoned nicely. Most everything was made like perfection and all you can eat!
