The Pink Floyd song “On The Turning Away” portrays the callousness of the GOP idealogues.
Remember these lyrics:
“Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others’ suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
The turning away”
How can the GOP take some of our resources and redirect it to the advantage of the fat cats?
You might want to give the GOP operatives the benefit of the doubt and say they have data supporting their decision to aid only the top 1%–but don’t!
The article “The GOP Has a Failed Theory to Hurt the 99% to Hide Behind” describes a theory that is as phony as a two dollar bill -thus appropriate for GOP propaganda.
In the April 2011 article “The GOP Bellow No More Taxes – which Really Means More Tax Cuts for Their Rich Cronies/Contributors” we describe that Senator Sanders had a plan that would help the 99% by taxing those who have gained by loopholes their GOP chums perpetuate as it states “Sanders said it was grossly unfair for Republicans to propose massive cuts to Head Start, Pell Grants, the Social Security Administration, nutrition grants for pregnant low-income women and the Environmental Protection Agency while ignoring the fact that many corporations pay nothing in federal income taxes.”
The January 2012 article “How Does the GOP Get a Single Vote Outside of the Top 1%?” described a Democratic proposal to cut taxes on the 99% and ask for raised taxes on millionaires solely. Of course the GOP stonewalled this because their benefactors and cronies aren’t going to get every conceivable benefit while the “Party of No” can obstruct Congress.
We described a few recent occasions in which the GOP had chances to help the 99% but declined to so.
Now the article “Obama’s populist budget aims to help Democrats in fall races” shows how the Democrats do want to help the majority.
Regarding how our President’s budget proposal is aimed at helping us it states it is “pushing for higher taxes on the wealthy and more domestic spending that it claims will increase job growth and combat income inequality.”
Paul Ryan was the 2012 GOP Vice Presidential candidate. His current budget proposal isn’t the first hypocritical plot that would shaft the 99% he’s made as the article “Ryan’s Budget Will Entice Us Then Entrap Us” attests to.
He should be ashamed of that budget proposal and be cautious, but he isn’t.
The article “Ryan-Murray 2014-15 Budget is Classic Bait and Switch Scam Hurting the 99%” describes how Ryan’s latest budget would eliminate defense “sequester” cuts” at the expense of domestic programs. It is not a coincidence that the programs that weren’t slashed were GOP favored policies.
The article has the same disgust as we have for GOP tactics as it states “And by the way, Paul Ryan ran as Vice President to Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney during which Ryan presented to the nation his proposed budget plan. American voters rejected Ryan’s budget plan in a massive landslide vote yet here we have Ryan back again hocking the some old economic snake oil.”
Due to Bush 43’s economic policies our economy isn’t growing. President Obama has improved it, but we still have much more to do.
When you have such limited resources why would you waste it on those who have no need for advantages, the fat cats-as the GOP is proposing?
