We may have had our last snowfall a few days ago, but the Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner and that is always the official start to summer in the Mile High City. Memorial Day weekend is May 24-26 this year. The city of Denver has prepared a fun-filled weekend of music, free artist shows, sporting events, roller coasters and water rides.
Denver Day of Rock

Denver Day of Rock is a one-of-a-kind music event presented by Concerts For Kids to raise awareness of the children in our community. This free event will feature five stages of live music throughout downtown Denver on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24, 2014.
The lineup includes Black Joe Lewis, Plain White T’s, The Hold Steady, Rachel and the Kings, the Railbenders, the Wendy Woo Band and many more.
The Denver Day of Rock will kick off Friday, May 24 in Skyline Park featuring the Wallflowers who are known for their record-topping single, “One Headlight.
The performance areas will be on the16th Street Mall making it easy for families to venture from stage to stage with food booths and beer gardens set up throughout mall.

Artstir Denver is a creative art showcase of local and regional artists that will mix a lively blend of art, and style that is sure to “stir up” the artist in all of us. Featured works include paint, sculpture, photography, drawings, textiles, furnishings and mixed media.
Memorial Day Parade and Tribute Ceremony

An annual, formal ceremony in Denver, Colorado which honors our military Fallen Heroes. The ceremony is always held the Saturday before Memorial Day. As part of the ceremony, veterans who never received their earned medals are honored through the Forgotten Heroes campaign.
