I work hard for my money during the year, so getting a larger tax refund became one of my goals for the year. Over the years, I have received large federal and state income taxes because I had dependents to claim. I also claimed itemized deduction and childcare expenses credits. These expenses placed me in a smaller tax bracket, and I received a larger earn income credit amount.
