If you are looking for a film festival in the Tampa Bay area, you are in luck. There is an assortment of local film festivals coming soon to Clearwater Beach, St. Petersburg, and Tampa.
U.S.F. Student Film Festival – “Dance Shorts”
When: Saturday, April 5, 2014 7:30 pm
Where:4202 E Fowler Ave, Tampa
Cost: $10.00 General Admission
Presented by Dance.Film.Revolution, the “Dance Shorts” Film Festival will feature 2-6 minute short, abstract, dance films that incorporate today’s technology. It’s a great way to spend an evening out and you can help support the local arts.
Sugar Sand Festival
When: April 4th – April 13, 2014
Where: Pier 60, Clearwater Beach
Bring your beach towels, blankets, or chair, because weather permitting, there will be a popular movie playing at Pier 60 every night from April 4th until April 13th for the Sugar Sand Festival. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. Once the Sugar Sand Festival is over, the normal Friday night, Saturday night, movie schedule will continue.
Sunscreen Film Festival
When: May 1st – May 4th, 2014
Where: St. Petersburg. Exact venues will vary.
Cost: $50.00 per day pass
The line-up for the events at the Sunscreen Film Fesitval is not yet available, but when it is, purchasing a day pass for Sunscreen Film Festival will get you unlimited access to the day’s film events, workshops, and parties. The workshops offered have lessons taught by actors, filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers.
Alternatively, the Sunscreen Film Festival is still accepting volunteers. Volunteers for the Festival who work one shift are compensated with a day pass. Volunteers who work four shifts are compensated with a VIP pass for the entire festival. If you would love to attend but are tight on cash, volunteering may be a great way for you to still attend the event, for free!
