Summer for job seekers doesn’t mean taking time off from looking for a job. Luckily, several companies and organizations will be holding several job fairs in San Diego to help with the job search. These events request or require pre-registration. Here are some of the job fairs coming up for the summer of 2014 in the San Diego area. With all job fairs, be prepared as if you are going to be interviewed that day and bring multiple resumes.
HireLive, a national recruiting service, is holding a job fair on Tuesday, June 24 at the Embassy Suites Hotel from 9 a.m. to Noon. This job fair will have a variety of local and national employers including some from major companies. The Embassy Suites is located at 4550 La Jolla Village Drive. HireLive will also hold another job fair on Friday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites at 601 Pacific Highway. Register for both fairs on their website.
Choice Career Fairs will be holding a job fair at the Doubletree Hotel on Thursday, July 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Expect to see a variety of employers at this fair ranging from sales to insurance with some unique opportunities in between. Be sure to arrive early and it is suggested that one register on the Choice Career Fair website where they can also view other job openings. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 7450 Hazard Center Drive in Mission Valley.
A specialized job fair held by SPIE Optics and Photonics will take place at the San Diego Convention Center on Tuesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This job fair will focus on optics and photonics topics such as optical engineering, nanoscience, solar power and related industries. Fifteen employers with hundreds of opportunities are expected to attend. Pre-registration is required and can be done through their website and is free for job-seekers to the exhibition.
On Tuesday, August 26, National Career Fairs will be holding a career fair at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The job list hasn’t been completed, but is expected to be available to those who register after August 21. They expect employers representing real estate, sales, accounting, and clerical jobs among many more. Companies in the past included insurance companies, sales, higher education, and some government agencies. Be sure to arrive early. The San Diego Marriott is near the convention center at 333 West Harbor Drive.
