It is already that time of year! After this long cold winter in most of the country like we’ve haven’t seen in years, everyone has put on a few extra pounds they didn’t want. Losing weight isn’t easy for most people so here are some tips that I have learned and used to lose weight going into the summer season. Sometimes without realizing it we sabotage ourselves, so watch out and remind yourself of your goal.
Water: You need to make water your best friend. You should drink as much of it as possible and some doctors believe you need to drink half your weigh in water. This flushes out anything your body doesn’t need and helps with bloating.
Food: Take a multivitamin every day first thing in the morning. They will make sure you are getting what you need right away to start your day. Food is a fuel to keep you going and keep your body healthy. On Sundays make you list of meals for the week and prep them ahead of time. Doing this will keep you from fast meals, fast and unhealthy foods. Remember to watch your seasonings for salt!
Salt: Could be hidden everywhere!! Salt is an enemy of someone who is trying to lose weight. It is hidden almost everywhere. You need to keep an eye out for it in your ingredients and in any processed foods. You need to be very aware if your salt intake.
Exercise: This should be fun, not a chore. Doing things that you enjoy or things that help let off stress or steam make exercising easier. This helps you to get into a routine earlier and then you are more likely to stick to it even in the winter. Also vary your exercise so that you do not bored and try to get a motivational partner so you both can keep each other going.
Just remember to stay away from the latest new fad diet, when what you ready want is a lifestyle change. If you change the way you think about food and exercise you weight loss will be permanent and easier to control.
