Hosting a birthday party this summer? You’re in luck. Summer themed party favors are easy and plentiful. You can find a lot of inexpensive summer gear that works well as favors. Hit the dollar store for inexpensive toys and items to fill the favor bags. Try some of these options.
Even if the kids don’t go to the beach anytime soon, a beach ball is fun toy. Plus they are inexpensive so you can add in some other favors or just save on the party budget. Fold up the deflated beach balls. Tie a ribbon around them with a tag that says, “Have a ball!” or “Thanks for having a ball with us!”
Another fun option for summer is a beach bucket. Kids can play with them in a sandbox or at the park if they aren’t beach bound. Add in some other fun toys inside the bucket, such as sand shovels, sunglasses and inflatable beach toys.
Give the kids something to do outdoors this summer. There are many inexpensive outside toys and items that work well in a favor bag. Grab some sidewalk chalk, bubbles and bouncy balls. Add in some extra bubble blowers. Toss in a few inexpensive water guns or a package of water balloons. Keep in mind the ages of the recipients so you don’t buy anything that is a choking hazard.
Keep your party guests hydrated with new water bottles. Add each child’s name to a water bottle using vinyl stickers or paint. It adds a personal touch and the kids won’t get their bottles mixed up. You can also put some small items inside the bottles to make the gift more substantial if you want.
Flip flops are the official shoe of summer. Why not give the kids all a new pair? But don’t leave them plain. Let the kids decorate their new shoes at the party. They can add ribbon, beads, sequins and other accents to create custom shoes.
