Golden weapons are some of the strongest weapons in Marvel: Avengers Alliance because they scale in level with the level of your agent. In season 2, you need to complete all six missions of a chapter in challenge mode in order to earn the golden weapon for that chapter. Challenge mode is very difficult and usually takes a lot of energy to defeat. Due to this, it may not be worth your effort to get some golden weapons. The following guide to golden weapons in season 2 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance will help you decide which of these pieces of agent gear are worth your efforts.
Chapter 1: Golden Enfield SA80 Assault Rifle (B-) – The damage on this rifle is some of the highest you will find in the game, but the stamina cost is also exceptional. Additionally, while this equipment has high damage, it has no special abilities at all. You will need to own Gambit to acquire this weapon, which is another detriment, since he isn’t a particularly useful character. Even with all this against it, the chapter is easy enough that it is probably worth it, especially since a high damage weapon is a rare thing in this game.
Chapter 2: Golden Glazed Ceramic Knife (D+) – While incredibly useful, weakened is one of the more common negative status effects in the game. Tenderized is useful if you commonly pair with a hero with a slashing weapon, but about half those heroes already have an attack that applies this condition and tenderized only increases the damage on this weapon from low to moderate. You simply have little actual need for this weapon in the long run.
Chapter 3: Golden Fan (A-) – For the damage it deals, the stamina cost on this weapon is practically trivial. In addition, the counterattack ability of the fan has a chance to constantly reactivate with each counter strike you make with the fan and reduced damage is always good. This is definitely near the top of the counterattack weapons in the game. The biggest downside of the fan is that Punisher is an expensive hero that is generally a poor choice for most battles.
Chapter 4: Gilded Semi-Auto Gun (C-) – The damage on this weapon is comparable to the Golden Fan, but at a higher stamina cost and with less attractive special abilities. Lock-on is a weak status effect unless your entire team is wielding ranged weapons. The pinpoint target special ability is roughly equally as well, though it is much more impressive when Hawkeye is on your team.
Chapter 5: Bashenga’s Blade (A) – This is a top weapon choice despite the very high stamina cost and the high difficulty in acquiring the weapon. The damage is innately slightly lower than that of the SA80 Rifle, but the attack buff granted by this weapon makes up for that. The two round counterattack is even better for helping to deal damage quickly. About the only thing that keeps this piece of gear from getting a perfect score is the fact that Hercules is overly expensive for his power level and he is required to get this weapon.
