I’m really excited about an exciting spring makeup trend-it’s bright white! What’s so great about this trend? Well, I find it’s youthful-looking and gives you a wide-eyed look. I’m a makeup artist but you don’t have to be a pro to work this perky, spring look. Whether it’s a spring party or an exciting date, try out this gorgeous eyeshadow application. The trick is using this color sparingly-a heavy application could make you look like a mime. (Not the look we’re going for!)
You’ll need these makeup supplies:
White eyeshadow (matte)
White eyeshadow (shimmer)
Start by applying eye primer to the entire eyelid. You should also brush your eyebrows up and out to shape them. (I recommend using a brown pencil to add brow definition if needed.)
Apply the matte eyeshadow to the entire lower lid of the eye from the socket crease to the lash line using the lid brush. Do not apply the eyeshadow at the brow bone. Leave the skin bare here. (The contrast between your skin and the white eyeshadow is what you want.) Also, sweep the color under the outer edge of the lower lashes.
With a blending brush, apply the shimmering eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eyes, at the top and bottom lash line. Use the shimmer in the eye socket crease too.
Roll white eyeliner on the water line. (Always sharpen the eye liner first. Rubbing your eye with a broken pencil can hurt.)
Finish with defining mascara. Voila! You’ve got a wearable but beautiful look for spring.
Of course, there are a few variations on this you can try. If you like more “eye drama” line the top of the lashes with liquid black eyeliner but keep the line close to your lashes. For a sparkly white eye look, add glitter (cosmetic not craft store) under and above the lash line.
If you do opt for this bright white style, go deep on the lip color. Sexy rosy or even a vivid orange is workable and lovely.
