I must admit that I haven’t been into the light blue nail color until now. I loved pool blues and turquoise, but the light blue shades have not grabbed my attention. I thought it was a little dull, plus it didn’t match anything in my wardrobe.
But now light blue has a little pizzazz. The look is called “blue ice” or “blue pearl” and it’s absolutely gorgeous! These light blue shades now have mild shimmery pearlescent reflectors that make the color have a slight touch of shimmer and glam. This makes the color much more sophisticated than it used to be. Now it’s wearable for less casual occasions like work or formal parties.
You can also add your own touch of glam to light blue by topping it with silver glitter top coats. This gives it that “icy” look that actually looks formal. For some reason, every time I see it, it makes me think of weddings. It’s honestly that pretty.
The key to pulling off this look is too not go overboard on the “ice” and “pearl”. The light blue color is supposed to be the main event, and the shimmer is only supposed to add a touch of glam. Pick top coats with fine glitters or sheer shimmery/pearlescent ones.
I’m loving this “blue ice” and I hope you try it out and love it too. It’s a modern spin on a practically boring color. You can try the look with e.l.f. Essential Nail Polish in Big Band Blue and Essie Nail Color in Bikini So Teeny.
