Land based casinos are entering the lucrative world of social gaming. What a surprise, casinos want to make more money? Open to children as young as 13, what’s wrong with that? Get them while they are young, candy cigarettes were the same concept. Is it worth it for smaller land based casinos to enter this world? Well, they would have to pay an IT staff to run it but isn’t that less depressing than paying some burnt out, druggie casino employees? Not to mention that if smaller casinos don’t get into social gaming within ten years they won’t have enough gamblers to pay the bills. The newer generation of phone/computer addicted people won’t leave the house unless there is a medical emergency.
As far as any social responsibility for getting youth addicted to gambling I believe that is controlled by parents and schools. Same with candy cigarettes, guns in the house, adult movies, internet sites, etc.…parents need to teach, protect their children, once they have those tools they can handle all tough decisions that they encounter. Schools have this responsibility as well, teach them young to drink coke instead of water and you’ll have overweight, unhealthy children. Schools that tolerate children looking at their phones in class and ignoring their teachers will create ignorant, disrespectful, antisocial creature.
