While most of us spread this whipped egg white concoction onto our turkey sandwich or use it to mix in with the family’s treasured deviled egg recipe, some people tend to veer off the norm and use mayonnaise for health and beauty and even cleaning.
Hair conditioner- This is a very common alternative to hair conditioner for many people. The use of mayonnaise replacing store bought hair conditioners adds shine to your hair. After shampooing anad rinsing hair, massage mayonnaise into the ends of hair. Helps with split end control too. Careful not to add to much near the scalp, as your scalp has natural oils.
Home facial– Mix a tablespoon of mayonnaise with a few drops of lemon juice and massage across face, especially in dry areas. Leave on for three to five minutes, then rinse with cool water and dab dry.
Sunburn relief- too much sun? No aloe around to soothe your achy burnt skin? Carefully rub a thin layer of mayonnaise on the affected areas for relief.
Sticker removal- have a stubborn sticker attached to a mirror? Or the sticky residue still visible? Rub some mayonnaise on the area and let sit for about five minutes. Then either peel off or scratch away with fingernail. Polish with some window and mirror cleaner. Works well on car’s bumper stickers also.
Crayon walls– rub some mayonnaise onto the crayon marks on your painted wall and allow to sit for a five minutes then wipe of with a clean damp towel. Repeat as necessary.
Squeaky hinges– Don’t have spray oil lubricant handy? Dab some mayonnaise onto a squkeay door hinge for a quick fix and to ‘grease’ up the dry hinge.
Dusty leaves– Not only will a washcloth with a dab of mayonnaise shine up houseplant leaves, but it also helps remove old dust that has collected that traditional household dusting cleaners can’t.
