Disney is at the helm of two film dynasties with ownership of Lucasfilms and Marvel Studios. The plans to develop a new Star Wars film each year and multiple Marvel movies each year has fans buzzing with excitement. Marvel Studios just trademarked a new science fiction brand that may make its way to either the big screen or to an ongoing Netflix series. Star Wars and Strikeforce Morituri share a number of similarities.
1. Battle with Aliens
Strikeforce Morituri will be fighting against an alien invasion from a race simply called the Horde. These aliens actually come to earth to plunder the natural resources of the planet and enslave the population. The Strikeforce will take on the ongoing threat of the Horde.
Star Wars is filled with aliens and ongoing conflicts involving these various races. Among the Jedi are several alien races of unknown origin including Yoda and Kit Fisto. In general, Star Wars is filled with aliens like the Gungans, Genosians and the Wookies. It seems that at every turn there is another alien race involved in the war.
The Strikeforce is formed by going through the Morituri Process. The Process merges energy with a DNA sequencing that alters the human body on a structural level. The individual dies when the Morituri Process reverses itself. The Process only lasts around a year before it destabilizes the DNA and causes the energy contained within the person to explode.
Star Wars reveals the Republic and the Rebellion are plunged into war. The Republic is brought into a devastating civil war that ends in the death of the Jedi Order, the founding of the Empire and the creation of Darth Vader. The Rebellion stands against the Empire and is put into two desperate battles against the monstrous Death Star.
3. Advanced Technology
Strikeforce Morituri benefit from the advanced technology of the combined resources of earth. Strikeforce is given a variety of technological advances such as energy projectile weapons, flight enhancing boots and airships.
Star Wars has incredible technology at the hands of the various characters. There are various types of starships with advanced hyperdrives to travel across the galaxy. There is advanced medical technology to heal the characters when injured and computer technology. The buildings and ships are of an advanced nature as well.
4. Deaths of Major Characters
Strikeforce Morituri will have a constant flow of characters because of the Morituri Process. The Process merges energy with DNA but is not fully stable. The destabilization results in the death of the individual. The members of Strikeforce die within a year of undergoing the Process.
The Star Wars prequel saw the deaths of many different major characters. The first two movies introduced a host of new Jedi to fans. Characters like Mace Windu, Kit Fisto and Qui Gon Ginn were fan favorites but many forgot that they would die before the end of the third movie. In the last three films, the Jedi were all but gone because they had been killed in the Great Purge.
