Described as the best basketball player in the world by most media; he is an awesomely gifted athlete. From high school to the NBA, unheard of! With the Cleveland Cavaliers, he worked his tail off.
Everyone realized no ring was coming and his supporting cast was thin. Lebron had the powder show before games which was a sneak peek into his mindset; thus “The Announcement” farce he put on when he left.
In 3 years with Miami he has 2 rings; headed for more. The supporting cast here is star laden.
Wisely, Lebron has embraced being a facilitator when covered. Occasionally, he reminds us what he can do when he flips the royal switch. 61 points in 1 game, wow! But something revealing happened after that bombing. He was gassed the next few games. This has more to do with his teamy attitude than anyone mentions.
Last night`s game against the Indiana Pacers was so revealing. Miami is very aggressive and talented; but the Pacers have size and aggression too. Sadly their talent does not match. But Lebron likes to bully, although he does not have to. He shoulder bumps twice, then attempts a shot; made or miss he gets the call. When calls don`t go his way, it is pitiful the way he whines and begs the refs.
The last play of the game, trailing by 1, Miami sets a play to Bosh; it fails, although it was a good open shot. Jordan, Bird, Magic, true greats; would not shy away in this scene. Sure Lebron has made some game winners; but he does not want it like the legends. The lone championship loss in these 3 years came against a Dallas Maverick team who got in his head. They were not impressed by his imaginary crown.
Miami may win again this year, but Lebron James will never have the class or merit the adoration of the legends of the game; who did not need to bully and count on the refs. Someone mentioned he might return to Cleveland when his contract expires. I hope he does, no co-stars and stud bench; to hide behind or throw under the bus when they lose.
