In life there are few things more precious than being given a second chance, knowing that someone is willing to take a risk on you when you’ve already demonstrated that you may not be worth that risk, it’s usually a great thing and some people take that one shot and make the absolute most of it. (syvnews) Many of us have been through situations where we got caught up in something we shouldn’t have, where we’ve done something that warranted us begging forgiveness for our actions, sometimes you get that forgiveness and sometimes you’re rebuffed. (oprah) Not everyone understands how amazing a second chance is, as a result they fall right back into their former ways, costing them the opportunity that has been bestowed upon them, it can be a bit of a vicious circle for some as they have demons that may be a bit harder to kick than just talking too much or not paying attention to signs that someone is giving when they’re upset. (rapidcityjournal) When the problem in question is an addiction to drugs or alcohol it can be devastating, these substances can take hold of someone and completely ruin their lives, Scott Hall being a primary example. (wrestlingnewsworld) When you’re a young man, sometimes you make stupid mistakes, these mistakes could cost you everything if you’re not careful and right now Seantrel Henderson is walking a fine line as the Buffalo Bills are giving him that one final chance to price he’s stronger than his demons. (profootballtalk)
Seantrel Henderson is an incredibly gifted mountain of a man who was the anchor of the offensive line for the Miami Hurricanes the last couple seasons. (hurricanesports) It’s widely known that Henderson had enough talent to be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, you don’t get the combination of size and ability that exists in his massive frame too often, so it seemed like he was destined to become a stalwart of some NFL line once he left Miami, until his demons took control. (espn) Henderson has failed multiple drug tests, most recently at the NFL Scouting Combine, and when the University of Miami Pro Day came around he was so out of shape that he couldn’t complete his entire workout, as a result his draft stock plummeted. (startribune) If Henderson can keep his head on right and find a way to beat the demons that are threatening his livelihood then the Bills will have landed one of the greatest steals of this years draft, but that is a very big if, possibly big enough to eclipse Henderson himself. Buffalo has made it’s name recently by taking risks, and giving Henderson another chance certainly qualifies as a risk. (yahoo) The team has let him know that he’s on a one strike program, if he slips then he’s done, for his sake I hope he’s wise enough to understand what that means and keep clean, otherwise he’ll go down as just another wasted prospect that never lived up to the hype.
