It’s impossible to imagine 70’s rock without Peter Frampton. His live double album FRAMTON COMES ALIVE broke records becoming one of the biggest selling releases of all time. The album was on the Billboard 200 for 97 weeks, of which 55 were in the top 40, of which 10 were at the top. The singles spawned from the release were consistently played on the radio only making his star even bigger. “Baby, I Love Your Way”, “Show Me the Way”, and an edited version of “Do You Feel Like We Do”, were the hits that just kept rolling along, literally having a life of their own.
Although he was never able to top the success of FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE, Peter continued recording throughout the 1980’s, often guesting for other headliners as their guitarist. He was an intrigral part of David Bowie’s “Glass Spider Tour,” in 1987. This seemed to revitalize his career and exposure to rock fans all around the world. In 1991 he rejoined Steve Marriott, his old Humble Pie mate for some shows (Marriott’s last English gigs) at the Half Moon in Putney, London. Frampton and Marriott laid down some tracks in L.A. and prepared to do a “Frampton-Marriott” tour. Tragically Marriott died in a house fire 24 hours after his return to England.
Frampton went on tour in 2011 with The Frampton Comes Alive 35th Anniversary Tour that showcased and followed exactly the songs on the play list for the original tour from 1976, recorded for the famous Frampton Comes Alive! One of his many stops for this tour was here at Hard Rock Live. The show sold-out and was one of the highlights of the season.
2013 brought Peter back to Hard Rock Live as he performed as part of the “Frampton’s Guitar Circus” tour which featured periodic guest performers including B.B. King, Robert Cray, Don Felder, Rick Derringer, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Steve Lukather, Sonny Landreth, David Hidalgo Mike McCready, Roger McGuinn and Vinnie Moore. This October Peter will be back once again making another stop in South Florida. Hard Rock Live must be one of his favorite venues giving rock fans another reason to rejoice and party the night away. Frampton has become a rock legend and will showcase his wares once again on stage. For more information on this show please visit the following site:
