No matter what your eye color, you can’t miss with rosy eye makeup. Instead of the soft pastels you normally wear with spring or summer, try this bolder rose style-it really stands out. I am a professional makeup artist who loves teaching women how to get beauty magazine eye looks at home.
You’ll need a few supplies and a well-lit mirror. Ready?
- Foundation makeup
- Medium pink eyeshadow
- Dark pink eyeshadow
- Light pink eyeshadow
- Black eyeliner
- Makeup brushes
Start with a smooth eyelid. Prime them with foundation or use an eye primer. I find that for this look, foundation is really all you need.
Cover the lower lid with the medium pink. Go from the top of the lashes to just above the socket crease, from the inside to the outside of the eye. Extend the color past the outer edge about 1/2 inch.
Now pick up a small amount of the dark rose on an angled makeup brush. Press this into the outer edge of the socket crease, around the outside of the eye and along the top lash line, like the letter “C”.
Pick up a dome tip makeup brush and blend the color lightly. You want the differences in the shades to appear subtle and not well defined.
Line the top of the lashes with black eyeliner. If you have a steady hand, I suggest using liquid liner on this top lash. The liner should extend past the edge of your eye, just like the eyeshadow.
Roll on eyeliner on the water line.
Now apply the lightest color pink to the inner eye, on the top and lower lid. Blend the light color under the eye to below the pupil.
Finish with two coats of mascara. Of course, do this for both eyes.
This simple eye makeup style is beautiful and delivers the perfect amount of color!
