Recently while browsing the Schwan’s online catalog I saw that they offered a Watermelon Sherbet and I had to try it out. Personally I love things that have a watermelon flavor to it. It is available to order from their website and they even deliver to your door. This is a great service to have if you have never tried it before.
When you purchase it, you get 56 oz. for $5.74. That is not a terrible price considering how much you can pay for ice cream sometimes at the store. It is the perfect size container to share and eat it more than once. It says it serves up to 14.
This sherbet is a great flavor. Personally it reminded me of the watermelon taffy you can buy at the store. It has black specks in it that happen to be a hard candy but look like seeds. They taste just like the ones that you find on the taffy at the store. They add a great little surprise in some of the bites and I think are a perfect addition to this sherbet. They are not too hard to chew at all but are just right.
Personally this is became a quick favorite for me. I loved the flavor. It doesn’t have real watermelon chunks or anything in it just the candy. It is something that satisfies the sweet tooth without needing a ton of it. Customers on their site have given it a 4.1 out of 5 which seems pretty accurate. It is extremely sweet though just a warning. It is marketed as low sodium, great for kids, and vegetarian. Each serving has approx. 130 calories and 1g of fat. I loved the Schwan’s Watermelon Sherbet. My one complaint is that it is seasonal and I can’t get it all the time.
