Product Description: Grilled split Maine Lobster tail served with rice, shrimp scampi and garlic grilled shrimp. I purchased this last week for $21.99.
Review: My wife and I recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. As part of that celebration, decided to have a late lunch/early dinner at Red Lobster.
This was actually my first time visiting this particular restaurant (my wife has been there before, but it was a long time ago) and, as a result, everything on their menu was new to me. This particular menu item was actually more expensive than I would normally spend on myself at a restaurant. However, since it was a special occasion and because we had a coupon, I decided to try it. I wasn’t disappointed.
Even though I’ll eat it, I’m not normally a huge lobster fan. However, I had to admit, this lobster was actually really good. In fact, my wife was surprised by how quickly I finished the lobster portion of my dinner. I think it had to do with the fact it was grilled and had the grilled taste as a result of that.
The same could also be said for the shrimp. I don’t know if I liked the shrimp scampi nearly as much as the grilled shrimp. However, both were decent and, much like the lobster, it didn’t take me too long to eat all of it.
As far as quantity goes, I had no real complaints. I didn’t take home any leftovers, something that would normally disappoint me. However, since I was eating about three hours later than normal and had spent most of our day walking a mall, a lot of that could easy be the result of me being extra hungry. And, considering it was lobster, I think the overall value was still there.
In fact, my only real complaint about this product was the fries I picked as my optional side dish. They weren’t terrible. They just weren’t anything special and, if I were to pick this entrée again, I would pick something else to go with it.
Final Opinion: As I said before, this is a bit more expensive than I would normally spend on myself when dining out. However, it was definitely worth the money and I would recommend it.
