This yarn is beautiful and I was looking forward to using it for many crochet projects. Unfortunately, it failed to pass the “user-friendly” test.
Why this yarn did not pass the test:
- · It’s very slippery to work with, similar to ribbon.
- · It has no adherence capability. When I was forming the test item (a rose), this yarn wouldn’t stay put. It kept slipping out of shape, so sewing and reshaping as I went along was challenging.
- · When I was sewing the rose petals together, I noticed that the needle doesn’t go through a strand of yarn.
Patons Metallic is expensive at Michaels ($5.99 per skein). However, it contains a generous 250 yards.
A scarf or hat made from this yarn would really look great. Since the texture is so slippery, the project will go quickly.
