My nails definitely take a beating when an interesting cricket match is going on, with me, as usual, sitting on my couch in front of the TV with tensed facial expressions. Tensed facial expressions for a cricket match? Definitely! And the credit for this goes to Fantasy Cricket. As exciting as this sounds, Fantasy Cricket has totally changed the way users (including me) look at the match going on. Instead of hoping for a 6 every ball, the entertaining bit, everyone hopes for that player to perform well whom they have picked in their fantasy line-up, and that is the exciting bit. It baffles the mind even to imagine what would be going through an Indian fan’s mind when India plays Pakistan and he has picked one of the Pakistani players. Would he really be wanting that player to perform against India?
Fantasy Cricket is a massive industry specifically for the fact of sheer amount of cricket lovers in the world. With Associate countries like Ireland, Netherlands, UAE, and many others entering into the cricketing world too, the audience is going to increase even further. I started playing Fantasy Cricket probably 6-7 years ago, and my love for it has ever increased since then. After setting our teams for the game(s), wanting to return at toss time to check if all the players we have picked are playing, and following every bit of the captain that you have set in your fantasy line-up, is possible only due to the presence of Fantasy Cricket. I never would say that it is more interesting than cricket, no it’s not, but the passion with which users get involved in rooting for one player/team is worth watching.
In this competitive world, there are a few emerging cricket fantasy websites, and as a user it’s all up to choice as to which site, or a couple of sites you want to play on. Some offer daily games, whereas others offer tournament games, and there is one which offers the draft system too (just like NFL does). It’s been a privilege for me to be involved in this industry for more than 5 years, and I have gained some tremendous experience and at the same time built great virtual relationships.
