We’ve been through many affairs in those four straight years, and no matter how much we hate leaving that point of our lives, it is mandatory. High school, I could say, is the most lingering phase of our lives – cannot be forgotten and will haunt our memories until we’re old with those immeasurable and enchanting youthful years. However, moving on to the next level is compulsory. It means high school’s over, for college is ahead. It is truly an unnerving vision: How’s life after high school?
For the majority of soon-to-graduate high school students, entering college is both terrifying and thrilling; it’s because we have this fear of being in a place where a freshman must stand on their own two feet in a place jam-packed with unfamiliar faces. But hey! Beginning high school is slightly similar to college- new faces, new professors, a new place, and a new life. The only difference is that college must be taken a lot more seriously, for it is where your future begins.
What is college for? Some people believe it is only about finding a stable job. Yes, it is true but there is something beyond College life that only those who stepped on it know. College is about finding yourself, who you are in person and what type you want to be. And when you already caught that shadow of yours and recognize it, then that’s the beginning of your search of a stable career. Career happiness and contentment only up rise if you already know what you exactly want. College is all about interest and aptitude. It’s all about molding yourself.
Adults often ask, “So, what are you doing after graduation?” which means what course will you study and what school. This is by far one of the most asked questions that some of us can hardly answer. Some fortunate people already know from an early age what they exactly want in college and yet some are still confused.
Choosing a course is like choosing your fate. The most fundamental consideration is deciding what you desire. Is there something that you’ve been longing to get into, something that reverberates within every fiber of your being? If so, that may be your fate. Be certain on deciding on which to study, stick to your hobbies, skills, and capabilities. Select the field you are interested the most and make the most out of it. However, take consideration of your parent’s affordability and the career opportunities offered by the course. Remember that you are creating your life’s own blueprint, be firm and handy.
Choosing a school is like choosing an estate. University quality is to be well thought-out. It does not necessarily mean that if you’re set on going to a not-so-well-known university that you won’t grow. It is still preeminent if you choose the university that suits your course best and where your chosen course is majored. A quality school produces quality professionals and quality professionals are magnets to good career opportunities.
Students, like us, need to recognize that college education is all about allowing access to a new dimension of knowledge and understanding, it serves as our trail guide to triumph, it is the four-leaf clover wish we must all take chance of, it is the outline of our future and looking more closely, community college is a noteworthy society that can direct us into looking inside ourselves and revealing the true person within. Maybe the best thing about community college is that it’s only the beginning, it is the life after high school.
