One great thing about living in our present day and age, is the quick methods available for faking a clean house. With every sort of disposable wipe, pad, dusting cloth or tool, you can get your entire house clean lickety split. I use a lot of these time saving strategies for cleaning when I’m in need of a clean “looking” home environment, that isn’t necessarily really clean. You know what I mean, right? Here’s some of my more heavily relied upon ways to make the house look clean when it’s really not.
Using disposable dusting products would break the bank for me if I used them regularly. However, in a pinch, when I’m expecting some unexpected guests, or am working all week and have no time to dust, I’ll pull out my disposable dusters from under the kitchen sink. Briskly using these on a quick once over dusting spree prior to my company arriving, or on a day where working and errand running is going to be reality for not only that day, but the entire week, is sometimes the best I can do.
I find these items a must have for the kids’ bedrooms. If I need to have the house in order fast, I’ll just breeze through each of the kids rooms, picking up toys and other various objects, then promptly dumping them straight into the ottoman. Nothing could be easier. Plus, I love the fact that these come in such festive decorative colors and designs perfect for a child’s room.
If you need your living space to look more spic and span than it currently does, be sure to keep your lights on a dimmer setting. Bright lighting tends to highlight nicks, scuffs and dings in your walls, as well other messes which are scattered about. Dimmer lights also give your surroundings a cozier feel than bright lighting would.
Sticky Lint Rollers
If the upholstery on your furniture, or perhaps window treatments has a plethora of lint, dust and other unsightly things clinging to it, grab the lint roller you use for your coats and clothing to quickly whisk over the furniture, draperies or decorative throw pillows with. In just a minute or two, you’ll have a much more slightly living space which you can feel good about others seeing.
Is there an unattractive stain on your sofa, pillows or ottoman? Just grab a decorative blanket that you can neatly fold over in halves or quarters to drape over the sofa, chair or other furniture piece for a cleaner look than you actually have.
