Getting your book published can seem very scary and expensive. But in today’s world, it doesn’t have to be that way. Before the internet, you would have to print and mail copies to all the publishers you wanted to submit your book too. Printing, stamps and envelopes can be extremely expensive. But with today’s technology you can simply email a PDF or Word file to majority of the publishers and get a response back via email.
Another option, if you are having trouble finding a publisher, is to self publish. With websites like Amazon and Create Space you can easily copy and paste the contents of your book into their template, upload pictures for the cover, submit and release your book. Book copies are printed and shipped when someone places an order online and you receive a percentage of the sale. This means no more purchasing multiple books to take up space in your house until you sell them yourself. But if you prefer, you always have the option of ordering multiple copies of your books at a very low cost through the website. Its still much cheaper than finding a book binding company to produce the books for you.
My experience with publishing my first book was not scary at all. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing many more books this way. In fact, the very first day my book was published I made a few sales. I never expected to sale a copy of my book right away, but I’m looking forward to many more sales.
