My husband gave me a Kindle for my Christmas present. I am technology challenged so I was not too sure that my new gift would get along with me but it has surprised me.
My Kindle scared me when I opened it up on Christmas morning. I didn’t know if I could live up to my husbands expectations with it. Maybe he was very tired of all my various books hanging around the house so he thought this would be a good idea. Maybe he was just being nice or maybe he got a really good deal on it.
He showed me how to open it up and turn it on. That seemed easy enough and I could do it. Then he showed me how to get a book on it. That was a little harder then opening it up but I got the hang of it.
I must say it was not love at first sight. I usually clicked the page twice so then I had to click back to go back a page. I caught on soon and only clicked it once. It was easy. I could see the pages real well even in the brightest light and I learn quickly how to get books on it.
The Kindle came with a cover and I would have it no other way since I dropped it several times the first week I had it. I didn’t mean to drop it but I was not use to using it yet. I soon caught on but I would not have a Kindle without a cover.
I noticed over time that my paper book pile has been getting smaller. This is good since I do not like books taking up space all over my house. I tend to read more now that I have my Kindle since I can take it anywhere and it fits in my purse nicely.
I have a great selection of books at all times on my Kindle and if I don’t like a book I can get rid of it right away. I don’t have to have it sitting around taking up room on my counter.
When I have my Kindle with me I feel like I am on a mini vacation because I can go anywhere the books on my Kindle can take me.
I don’t need to go to the library to check out books and I don’t have to go to the library to return them. I simply check out books on my Kindle and when the books are done they go back to the library on their own. I don’t have any overdue charges to worry about. But if I am not done reading a book it can disappear on me if it is expired.
Over all I love my Kindle and enjoy it everyday.
