Prayer seems as though it would be a fairly simple tasks. That is not the case for all of us. Some over think it; other’s have trouble finding the time. There are several ways it can turn into a stressful experience. Of course, this is the opposite of its intended purpose. If you are like me, these three steps will help you to clear your mind and pray in a good way.
With a million things constantly going on it is hard to connect in with God. I suggest taking the time in unorthodox places such as, on your morning commute, the shower or even in those few minutes before you get out of bed, This will avoid any conflict with the outside world.
2.Have A Conversation Instead Of Just Making A Request
We all pray during times of great struggle to ask for help, health and wisdom. Although to make prayer a regular habit, I suggest shifting it into more of a conversation. Let God know what is going on in your world, the problem areas and what is going good. Ask for what you need and say thank you when it is received. This shift will also alleviate any guilt you may have.
3. It Does Not Have To Be Perfect
Most of have a vision of being at the perfect church, saying a prayer at the right time. This expectation is unrealistic. The setting for your prayer does not have to be ideal. It simply needs to function. If you feel moved to say a little prayer while doing the dishes, go for it. God is not judging your location. We are imperfect beings who do our best, our communication with a higher power simply mirrors that. Release the expectation and take the action, I promise you won’t regret it!
